Fifth Grade- Substitute Lesson One
Directions for the Substitute:
A. Students will come in and sit in their assigned seats (check against seating chart if needed)
B. Take attendance in the Binder.
C. Pass out Student ID Cards (from the black box on my desk).
D. Pass out Website handout and directions to use WorldBookOnline.com sheets.
E. Remind students to work responsibly and to raise their hands for your assistance as you walk around to help students.
F. Remind students to save their Work (in Microsoft Word) before closing the program.
G. Collect both handout sheets to be used again.
H. Ask students to close out of Internet Explorer (click on the X on top Right of Screen), log off (Press CTR, ALT, Delete and select Log Off), and turn Monitor off approx. 3 minutes before the end of the period.
I. Students are to push in chairs, and line up according to your instructions to wait to be picked up by their teacher.

Students are assigned to research presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Students need to locate information about the birth dates, years of presidency, and other interesting facts.
Students Follow Directions Below:
1. Turn Monitors ON. Press all Three keys at once (CTR, ALT, Delete).
2. Type in user name.
3. Type in your password, and press ENTER.
4. Students to open Internet Explorer and Microsoft Word. Since it is your first time using the program, you may need to click OK on a pop up box to accept using the recommended setting.
5. Students to navigate to www.crazy4computers.com by typing the URL in the address bar in Internet Explorer.
6. Students to click on Fifth Grade drop down menu and select Fifth Grade- Substitute Lesson One
7. Students click on the Photo of the presidents to open the Word Document (remember to save it with your name in your O drive!).
8. Students to click on the images below to link to the websites needed for this lesson.
